Available in: Free for every registered FACEITSync user. Premium is not required, and it gives no advantage on the server.
The FACEITSync Deathmatch Server is our own CS2 server for aim training. Everything you do on it is recorded: kills, deaths, headshots, accuracy, damage and your kills per weapon land on your dashboard, you collect points for a public leaderboard, and you get a skill rating of your own from Bronze to Master. There is one server, it is hosted in Germany, and only registered FACEITSync users get in.
Get on the server in four steps
Do these in order. Step 2 is the one people skip, and it is the reason the page later shows nothing but zeros.
- Log in to FACEITSync. A free account is enough; nothing on the server is reserved for Premium.
- Link your Steam account. Click Settings at the bottom of the left sidebar and open the Connections section. The entry there is called CS2 Link; click Connect and confirm on the Steam page. If you signed up with FACEIT, this is often already filled in, because the Steam ID is normally pulled from your FACEIT profile. The server recognises you by that Steam ID and by nothing else, so without it you are not on the guest list, your role is not applied, and nothing you do in game is saved.
- Open your server page. In your dashboard, click CS2 in the left sidebar, then DM server. This is the page that shows your rank, your skill rating, your lifetime stats and the top 10 of the leaderboard. Its address is
/dashboard/cs2-server. - Connect. Use the orange Connect to server button at the top of that page. It hands the server address to Steam, and CS2 starts and joins. If CS2 is already running, click Copy server IP instead: that puts a ready-made
connectline on your clipboard which you paste into the CS2 developer console.
There is no application and no waiting list, and there is nothing to save: linking Steam is what lets you in, and this page only reads your numbers.
Who is allowed on the server
Registered users only. When you join, the server asks FACEITSync whether your Steam ID belongs to an account here, and gets your highest role back with the answer. That role does exactly two things, and neither of them is a scoring advantage.
- It sets the clan tag in front of your name in the killfeed, for example
[Premium]or[Streamer]. - It decides who has to leave when the server is full. The order from highest to lowest is Admin, Premium, VIP, Pro, Streamer, Viewer, Player. A joining player with a higher role keeps the slot, and the lowest role goes first.
Roles do not shorten your respawn, which is instant for everyone, and they give no bonus points and no extra skill rating. The server has 16 slots, and bots fill the empty ones when few real players are online, so there is always something to shoot at. Those bots are counted in the player number you see on the page, which is why the server can read 10 out of 16 while only two humans are actually playing.
Points and the leaderboard
Points are the simple, counted number. You earn and lose them per action, and they are what orders the leaderboard.
Kills against bots are worth half, and dying to a bot costs double. That is deliberate: the ranking rewards play against real opponents, not farming the fill-in bots. Your total never drops below zero. Killstreaks at 5, 10, 15 and 20 kills are announced in chat, and your longest streak feeds your skill rating.
The same points number is published in three places, at different depths. The public page /community/dm-server shows the top 30 and needs no login, your dashboard shows the top 10, and !top in the game chat shows the top 5.
Skill Rating and the ranks
The Skill Rating is a different number from your points. It runs from 0 to 5000, and every new player starts at 1000, which is the bottom of Silver.
Points are collected, the Skill Rating is calculated. It is worked out fresh from your lifetime figures every time the page loads, so it can move either way after a session no matter how many points you banked. Seven things go into it: your kill/death ratio, your headshot share, your shooting accuracy, your damage per minute, how much you have played, your first bloods and your longest killstreak. That experience part - how much you have played, counted in kills - is the largest single share and is completely filled at 6000 kills, which is why a good but short session lifts you less than you expect.
Your first 250 kills are placement kills. During them the calculated value is blended towards the starting value of 1000, so the rating moves slowly at the beginning and settles once you have played enough for the numbers to mean something. Your position in the leaderboard, on the other hand, is simply the number of players with more points than you, plus one.
What the server records for you
Your dashboard page keeps a lifetime total of kills, deaths, assists, headshots, damage, rounds and playing time, plus your accuracy and your longest killstreak. Kills are also split per weapon for the AK-47, M4A4, M4A1-S, Desert Eagle, USP-S and the knife, so you can see which gun you actually carry your rounds with. Underneath, your last five sessions are listed with map, kills, deaths, assists, headshots, damage and duration.
The Windows app FACEITSync Connect shows the same page. It has no menu entry of its own; you reach it through the DM server card on the app home screen.
Chat commands in game
Type these into the normal CS2 chat while you are on the server.
When your stats do not show up
Work down this list in order. Almost every case is one of the first three.
- Is a Steam account linked? Open Settings, then Connections, and look at the CS2 Link entry. If it says not connected, the server cannot match your session to you and nothing was ever saved. Link it and play a few more rounds; earlier sessions cannot be recovered.
- Have you actually played? Before your first kill the page shows a starting card with a skill rating of 1000 and no numbers. That is the normal empty state, not a fault.
- Are you waiting for numbers that are only a minute old? Your DM stats update about once a minute while you play, so give a fresh kill a minute or two before it shows.
- Did the Update stats button do nothing? That button only works while you are actually on the server: it checks for a sign of life from the last three minutes and only then fetches fresh numbers. Off the server it opens a note with a Connect button instead. It also works only once every 15 seconds; press it sooner and it asks you to wait a moment.
- Is your Steam account linked to a different FACEITSync account? A Steam ID can only belong to one account here, so if linking is refused, the ID is still attached to an older account of yours.
- Does the public list show a different Skill Rating than your dashboard? That is expected. Your dashboard recalculates the value live from your lifetime stats, while the public top 30 shows the value the server last stored, so the two can be a few points apart until you play again.
FAQ
Is it really free? Yes, for every registered user. Premium changes nothing about access, scoring or your rating.
Do I need the FACEITSync Connect app to play? No. The app only shows the same page in a window of its own.
Why do my points go up while my rank stays the same? Points and Skill Rating are two different numbers. Points accumulate per action, the Skill Rating is recalculated from your overall performance, and your place in the leaderboard depends on how many players are ahead of you, not on how much you gained.
Why did I lose two points for one death? A bot killed you. Deaths to bots cost double, kills on bots are worth half.
Do I have to save anything? No. There is nothing to save on this page; it only shows what the server reports.
Can other people see my server stats? Only if you are in the top 30, which is a public page and needs no login. Your detailed lifetime numbers stay in your own dashboard.
