Streamsniper Detection (the Streamsniper Check) warns you when players from your active FACEIT match lobby appear in your Twitch chat. It gives you an early signal that someone in your game may be watching your stream, so you can react before it affects your match.
How it works
- A FACEIT match starts and the lobby is detected.
- FACEITSync reads the player list of the current match.
- The bot compares those FACEIT names with your current Twitch viewers.
- If there is a match, the bot posts a warning in your chat.
By default it focuses on the enemy team and ignores you. You can widen the scan scope to also include your teammates, which is useful against queue snipers. For security reasons the exact matching logic is intentionally not fully disclosed and is improved continuously.
Automatic background checks
Streamsniper Detection runs automatically in the background during your match. The bot checks the viewer list regularly with no manual interaction needed - you do not have to run anything by hand. The system monitors the situation continuously for the whole match.
Rules and cooldowns
To avoid spam and false alarms, detection follows strict rules:
- Minimum watch time: a detected viewer must be present for a set time before an announcement (default 5 minutes, configurable up to 5 minutes).
- Repeat interval: at most one new announcement every 10 minutes by default (configurable up to 20 minutes).
- After the match: at most one announcement, then it is locked for that match.
Bot permissions
The FACEITSync bot needs moderator rights in your Twitch channel. Moderator rights are required to read the viewer list regularly and to post announcements in chat. Without them, Streamsniper Detection cannot work.
Important: indicators only
Streamsniper Detection provides indicators, not proof. Not every detected viewer is actively stream sniping - similar names or coincidences can happen, and FACEITSync applies no automatic punishment. If you suspect sniping you can open a ticket on FACEIT.com and report the player. Useful evidence includes a screenshot of the chat announcement and a screenshot of your stream showing the viewer list with the matching name. There is no guarantee the reported player is banned, but the early signal lets you protect yourself, for example by enabling stream delay, covering the minimap, or switching scene when you are dead.
How to enable
- Open Dashboard, then Streamsniper Checker.
- Turn on Streamsniper Check.
- Set minimum watch time, repeat interval and scan scope (enemy only or also teammates).
- Save your settings, and make sure the bot has moderator rights in your channel.
