Blog has been quieter than usual - not because little was happening, but because a lot was being built in the background. New profiles, a complete backend rework, prep for FACEIT Season 9, and Overlay Studio v2 as the upcoming premium flagship. Here is where things stand.
All-new player profiles: cleaner, deeper, more honest
Player profiles on faceitsync.com have been rebuilt from the ground up. Less wall of numbers, more clear structure, significantly more analytical depth. The profile becomes the home of your CS2 stats.
Five tabs with distinct roles:
- ✓Overview: all core stats with a real time-window filter (last 20 matches, 7 days, 30 days, session, all time)
- ✓Matches: every match with its own details page and a direct link into the FACEIT match room
- ✓Highlights: match clips (Allstar) and Twitch !clip clips cleanly separated
- ✓Encounters: who you played against, how often, and the head-to-head record - rivalries finally visible
- ✓Community: everything around verified status, social links, streamer info
New or significantly expanded stats - grouped thematically instead of a wall of numbers:
- →Core & streaks: avg ELO gain/loss, longest streak, MVPs per match
- →Frag impact: multi-kills, aces (5K), opening-duel %, entry kills, first kills
- →Clutch: clutch kills, clutch win %
- →Utility: utility damage per match, enemies flashed, utility success %
- →Averages: AWP %, avg KD, avg KR, avg ADR, avg HS %, win rate
Every stat has a tooltip - it is always clear what the number actually means.
Per-map statistics: win rate, K/D, ADR, kills, deaths, differential, MVPs, headshots - broken down by map. Your strengths and weaknesses are on the table instead of being hidden inside an aggregate.
ELO history with switchable metrics. The ELO chart is no longer just an ELO line. One click switches between ELO, avg KD, avg ADR, avg KR and avg HS - you see your form not only by rating, but by actual performance.
Rankings, compact and in one place. Regional ranking (FACEIT EU/NA/...), country ranking, streamer ranking and the FACEITSync Score - all side by side in the sidebar, each linking to its leaderboard. Plus a 90-day activity heatmap, a breakdown of match queues, verified badges, top teammates with win rate, and linked social profiles (Twitch, YouTube, X, TikTok, Instagram, Discord).
Name changes visible. Alongside the current name, profiles now show the name history - both from Twitch and from FACEIT. If someone changed their nickname, you see who they used to be.
New search: history, regional toplists, old names find the new profile
Alongside the name-change history the global search (Ctrl+K or top right in the nav) has been rebuilt. Three things are new:
- 1Recently searched. Your search history is ready instantly, with ELO next to the name. One click on „Clear" wipes it.
- 2Most searched per region. A short leaderboard of the currently hottest queries, toggle between EU, NA, SA, SEA and OCE, with global rank position.
- 3Old names find the new profile. The name-change history sits in the profile index: type an old Twitch or FACEIT nick and you land on the current profile.
Throw anything at it. The search field auto-detects what you type - Twitch nickname (old ones too), FACEIT nickname, Steam ID, Steam community URL (steamcommunity.com/id/... or /profiles/...) or FACEIT profile URL. Drop it in, the search figures out the rest.
New: Encounters
One of our favourite new features. The Encounters tab (/player/encounters) shows, for every player, who they have faced how often, what the head-to-head record looks like and where they keep running into each other. Rivalries, patterns and repeat opponents finally become visible.
New: Community page for FACEIT bans
FACEIT bans have always been shown on individual profiles. New: the community overview at /community/faceit-bans. A community-sourced collection of all FACEIT bans in one place. Handy for quickly checking before a match whether an opponent or a new teammate has been flagged before - without clicking through five profiles individually.
Convenience: put fs in front of any Steam URL
A small but sweet detail for anyone who finds a lot of players via Steam: just put fs in front of steamcommunity.com and you land on the matching FACEITSync profile.
From:
steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198386265483
Becomes:
fssteamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198386265483
Works for every steamcommunity.com URL. No copy-paste, no searching - straight to the profile.
Backend rework: the foundation for what comes next
Right now, 40 to 50 new users sign up on FACEITSync every day - all organic. That grows more than the user base: match volume, live events, overlays and parallel bot traffic all scale up with it.
To carry that growth cleanly - and to prepare for everything coming in the next months - we rebuilt the backend end to end. No patch, no „let us tweak a thing". A rework, module by module: match processing, ELO history, Elasticsearch layer, cache strategy, job queues, GSI pipeline, and Twitch EventSub.
What it delivers:
- ✓Noticeably faster response times across the whole platform: profiles, rankings, dashboards, overlays
- ✓Cleaner scaling at peak times when hundreds of streamers go live in parallel
- ✓More headroom for every upcoming feature (Studio v2, GSI highlights, channel-point triggers, chat widget, multi-goal)
For you as a user things simply run smoother. For us it is the foundation the next six to twelve months of roadmap depend on. For context: the server upgrade to 16 cores and 64 GB RAM in March was step one. The backend rework is step two.
FACEIT Season 9 starts August 5, 2026
Block the calendar: FACEIT Season 9 starts on August 5, 2026 (Season 8 ends the day before). The headline info is already public:
- 10 placement matches calibrate your new Season 9 ELO
- Soft ELO reset in a lighter variant than before, personalised based on activity, win rate and FACEIT rating over the last weeks - players who played a lot and consistently lose less
A deeper post on reset behaviour and placement details will follow shortly before the season starts.
Short version from our end: FACEITSync is ready. The placement tracker we shipped at the start of Season 8 was already used live by major streamers and included in the official FACEIT streamer docs. That groundwork gets expanded further for Season 9.
What you need to know:
- ✓Automatic switch. On season start, profiles and overlays automatically switch into placement mode. No setup, nothing to toggle manually.
- ✓
!placementscommand in the Twitch bot. Viewers can pull the current placement status at any time: win/loss, K/D, ADR, HS%, avg kills, and the final Season 8 ELO. The command was already one of the most-used additions in Season 8. - ✓Prep is live. Data model, ELO baseline and placement detection are already S9-ready.
Overlay Studio v2: our premium flagship
The biggest piece in the summer package: Overlay Studio v2. Version two, built from scratch, the successor to the previous overlay editors. Not an overlay generator with fixed templates any more, but a full scene editor where you compose any number of widgets into a scene and go live with a single OBS browser source.
Studio v2 has two sides: a set of ready-made base overlays (free for everyone) and the premium area for your own scenes, where you build the whole thing yourself.
4 base overlays remain free
When Studio v2 releases, four new base overlays ship with it - completely free for everyone. Copy the URL, drop it into OBS as a browser source, done:
- Round Overlay
- Mini Overlay
- Standard Overlay
- ELO Badge: minimal pill with logo, level/challenger badge and current ELO. Perfect as a small cam overlay.
Under the hood, the base overlays already run on the Studio v2 infrastructure. Same renderer, same short /scene/1/<hash> URL - just pre-built instead of hand-crafted.
Your own scenes (premium)
The premium area is the actual Studio v2. Every scene is a stage made of multiple widgets - arrange them freely, style them, save them - and it becomes one short scene URL that runs as a single OBS browser source.
The editor
The Studio editor is the core. What you drag onto the canvas:
- Form templates: ELO Badge, Standard, Round, Team 1, Team Center, Team 2
- Twitch alerts: video alerts for Sub, Follow, Raid
- Live events: Follower, Subs & GSI - directly embeddable in the scene
- Elements: fine-grained building blocks you drop into element-capable widgets to customise further
And this is where the depth starts: every form template automatically brings a whole bundle of elements that opens when you drop it onto the canvas. From the classics like ELO, level and session stats to things that actually make an impact - animated motions for multi-kills and aces, multiple goal widgets, or chat elements where ELO appears next to the name of every linked viewer. And more that we deliberately are not spoiling here. Poking around is worth it.
Precision while building:
- →Canvas presets from 1080p, 1440p, 720p, Small (800×450) to Mini (600×300) - matching every OBS scene
- →OBS image as background: import your actual scene with an opacity slider so you can position pixel-perfect on your real layout
- →Magnetic snapping to the grid and to other widgets, layers panel (click to select, shift+click for multi-select, double-click to rename), dockable panels, undo/redo with Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y, zoom control
Scene triggers: your overlay reacts to context
Every widget has its own visibility trigger. You decide when which widget appears in the scene: always show, on FACEIT match, on live match, on active prediction, in-game (GSI), out of game, when stream is live.
That way you can build a scene that shows the teams overlay in the pre-lobby state, switches to live stats mid-match, blends in a highlight widget while a prediction runs, and stays clean when nothing is going on - all inside the same OBS browser source.
Test mode: emulate everything before you go live
Studio v2 has a full emulator built in. You do not go live and hope your widget triggers - you trigger it once and see exactly how it looks:
- Preview data: real data or example data (fills empty values so every widget is instantly testable)
- Toggle the teams lobby on and off without a live FACEIT match
- Emulate Twitch events: follower, sub, sub gift, community gift, bits/cheer, raid, tip, channel points
- Emulate FACEIT events: match started/configured/ready/ended, ELO changed, goal reached, prediction started/ended
- Toggle states: bingo win, bingo near-bingo, subathon happy hour, subathon +Ns popup, prediction display, Spotify running, goal almost reached, new chat message
Test mode is editor-only preview, not saved with the scene, and the fastest way to make sure everything is in place before the first real match.
Auto-switches to the Placement Tracker on placement day
For the Season 9 start, a small but important piece of automation kicks in: all overlays (base overlays and custom scenes alike) auto-switch to the placement tracker on placement day, and switch back automatically after ten matches. No reconfiguration, no separate widget. Your OBS setup stays exactly as it is - the overlay handles the rest.
Rollout & what comes next
Studio v2 rolls out shortly - including the four free base overlays and the full premium editor. Right after that come the GSI-triggered widgets (3K, 4K, ace and clutch effects, animated motions), as soon as the GSI layer is live. Everything else lands piece by piece on top.
FACEITSync by the numbers (as of July 2026)
A quick snapshot of where the platform stands right now:
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Registered users | 5,723 |
| Tracked FACEIT players | 509,193 |
| Countries represented | 30 |
| Predictions (24h) | 269 |
| Predictions (7 days) | 2,012 |
| Predictions total | 71,219 |
For comparison: at the last growth update in April there were 2,533 registered users and 171,894 tracked profiles. In three months that is more than doubled on registrations and almost tripled on the data base - with 40 to 50 new sign-ups per day, and not a single paid ad click.
Predictions all run fully automatic: every prediction resolves itself at match end with the correct winner outcome and auto-refunds on dodges. 71,219 predictions total means: 71,219 times no streamer had to click a „Resolve" button manually.
What now
If you are not on FACEITSync yet: connect your Twitch account and pick your overlays. !elo, !stats, !last and !placements are ready in chat instantly, and the four standard overlays stay free.
If you are already on board: the new profiles are live, the backend runs noticeably smoother, !placements is ready for Season 9, and Studio v2 rolls out shortly.
The rest follows piece by piece, as promised. Stay tuned.
